Bradman Rolton Medal Awards 2024/25

The Bradman Rolton Medal awards held at Adelaide Oval on Wednesday evening marked the conclusion of another outstanding SACA Premier Cricket season.

For the first time, the Bradman Medal for the best West End Men’s First Grade player in Division One was declared a four-way tie and was presented to West Torrens District’s Harry Manenti, Adelaide’s Noah McFadyen, Sturt District’s Brad Davis and Port Adelaide’s Cameron Valente.

The Rolton Medal for best player of the Kookaburra Women’s First Grade went to Kensington’s Sarah Lowe, and in its second year, the Sincock Medal, which honours the top player in West End Men’s First Grade Division Two, was presented to Henry Cullen from East Torrens.

After debuting for the Adelaide Strikers earlier in the season, Harry Manenti was awarded his first Bradman Medal after an impressive season finishing with a batting average of 62.20 and a high score of 147 in the semi-final. He also picked up 18 wickets for the season with best figures of 4/24.

This was Noah McFadyen’s first season with Adelaide Cricket Club after moving from Queensland in the offseason. He has followed in his father’s footsteps, who also won a Bradman Medal in 1990/91 for Port Adelaide. McFadyen’s highest score for the season was 134 runs and achieved best bowling figures of 5/27.

Brad Davis earned his second Bradman Medal after making 525 runs for the season at an average of 65.63. He also reached a significant milestone playing his 200th senior First Grade game for Sturt District.

Cameron Valente has won a remarkable third Bradman Medal becoming only the fourth player to do so. He accumulated a total of 393 runs for the season, including a high score of 133, and took an impressive 25 wickets.

After recently winning their fourth premiership in a row, Kensington’s captain Sarah Lowe has been crowned the Rolton Medallist. This is Lowe’s third Rolton Medal, having previously won the award in 2016/17 and 2020/21.

English cricketer Henry Cullen joined Woodville this season after previously playing in the U.K. Cullen has appeared in four List A matches and one T20 match for Worcestershire, and he is the first overseas player to win the Sincock Medal.

West Torrens District’s Jo Gardner placed second in the Rolton Medal, while Michael McCormack from East Torrens District finished runner-up in the Sincock Medal.

Several other winners were acknowledged for their exceptional seasons on the night. In the shorter formats, Tom O’Connell from Sturt District and Luke Hollman from Tea Tree Gully District were joint winners of the Darren Lehmann Medal as the best players in the West End T20 competition. In addition to the Rolton Medal, Sarah Lowe made it two from two, also winning the Shelley Nitschke Medal in the Kookaburra T20 competition.

Sturt District’s Mackenzie Harvey was named best player in the One Day Cup and was awarded the Fred Godson Medal, while the Jason Gillespie Medal for best under 21 player was awarded to Thomas Brown from Adelaide University.

The winners of the Second, Third, and Fourth Grade Medals, along with many others who contributed to the Premier Cricket competitions both on and off the field, were also recognised during the night.
