The SACA Development Academy was established to grow and support South Australia's representative Aboriginal and disability teams.
SACA is committed to a culture of inclusion and diversity and for this reason, the SACA Development Academy was established in 2017.
The Development Academy supports the State's most talented cricketers from underrepresented groups, including those with physical and intellectual disabilities and those from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.
While a focus on cricket skills is critical for player development, SACA places just as much emphasis on personal development opportunities, with an array of physical and mental health programs on offer to Development Academy participants.
Each year, SACA is proud to send teams to represent South Australia at the National Cricket Inclusion Championships and National Indigenous Cricket Championships. To continue to provide this at no cost to these passionate cricketers, SACA is seeking donations to assist.
SACA sends the following teams away to compete, as well as providing coaches, team managers and mentors to assist:
Aboriginal Men's Team (Southern Boomerangs)
Aboriginal Women's Team (SA Desert Peas)
Blind and Vision Impaired
Cricketers with an Intellectual Disability
Deaf and Hard of Hearing
As a reflection of SACA’s dedication to making cricket South Australia’s favourite sport and a sport for all South Australians, our non-professional State teams are given access to the same state-of-the-art facilities as our elite teams.
Personal development opportunities include strength and conditioning, nutrition, mindset coaching and gratitude sessions. SACA is committed to not only developing the player but developing the person.
By making a tax deductible donation to the SACA Development Academy project you can assist in keeping the program free for players. Your donation will help to support player development, wellbeing, equipment, uniforms, accommodation, meals, Development Academy promotion and the ability to recognise our wonderful volunteers.
SACA is registered with the Australian Sports Foundation and all donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
