South Australia and Queensland have shook hands ahead of Tea on the final day at Karen Rolton Oval to complete the home and away season for both sides.
It was a flat pitch at Karen Rolton Oval which was only bolstered by searing heat on Saturday, resulting in a wicket that played consistent throughout the match and served the batters well.
South Australia finished day four with 5-252 under their belt thanks to a cracking ton from Jason Sangha, who brought up the milestone with a majestic six over cover.
Sangha finished the innings on 103* with Alex Carey the other standout in the second innings playing an entertaining cameo of 56 at a strike rate of 87.50.
Carey was one of five batters to reach three figures throughout the first half of the match knocking 104 off only 100 balls under blustery and hot conditions on day one.
Conor McInerney was the highlight, notching his maiden First-Class century after Nathan McSweeney won the toss and sent the visitors in for a bowl under tough conditions.
McInerney finished the innings with 142 (222) which ultimately secured Player of the Match honours.
All South Australian batters got a start across day one and two with Lehmann (130*) adding to the centuries of McInerney and Carey.
Under vastly different conditions on day two it was Nathan McAndrew who ripped through the Queensland top order with three wickets, leaving them in danger at 5-86 chasing 7-614d.
McAndrew (3-68), Henry Thornton (3-90) and Lloyd Pope (3-84) claimed three each as Queensland’s middle and lower order fought to secure a bonus point and keep them in contention.
Jimmy Pierson (128) and Jack Wildermuth (104) guided the visitors to the required total of 330 within the 100 over limit, keeping them in the box seat to return to Adelaide next week depending on other results.
With Queensland bowled out for 370, South Australia opted not to enforce the follow on with day three and four serving as batting practice ahead of a Sheffield Shield Final in just over a week’s time.
South Australia will host the Sheffield Shield Final at Karen Rolton Oval from March 26-30 with free entry for all patrons.
