South Australia have locked in a home Sheffield Shield final after beating Victoria at CitiPower Centre by 4 wickets.
Led by a 148-run partnership between Jake Lehmann (105*) and Liam Scott (83), the visitors chased 300 in the final session of Day Four.
Scott registered his highest First-Class score to go along with his 4fa in the second Victorian innings, showcasing the talent of the young all-rounder. The accolades came the way of Lehmann, who, despite losing his partner in Scott, smashed the tired Victorian bowlers to bring up his 12th First-Class hundred.
The chase was originally set up by a fighting innings from Henry Hunt (66), whose patience and runs set the platform for his fellow South Australian batters.
The large partnership between Lehmann and Scott came after South Australia found themselves in trouble, with the dismissal of Hunt reducing the score to 4-108.
A few quick wickets near the end of the chase threatened South Australia's chances, before Manenti (14*) and Lehmann put the final touches in a tight away victory.
Earlier in the match, South Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first on a lively green surface.
The pace bowlers of South Australia used the conditions well, with Henry Thornton (4-42) continuing his torment of his Victorian line-up from the One-Day Cup final, collecting 4 wickets, as Jordan Buckingham (4-70) worked away to break important partnerships.
A gritty knock by Captain Nathan McSweeney (60), kept us in the match as wickets fell frequently in our reply. Contributions by the lower middle-order made sure we reached parity, to make the match a one innings shootout.
Some good batting by the Victorian's saw them post the inevitability chased 300, a score lower than first feared, as Thornton (3-44) and Scott (4-49) kept the hosts from getting away from South Australia.
The successful chase means that South Australia have locked in hosting duties for the Sheffield Shield. It will be the first time SA have hosted the final since the 2015/16 summer where it was held at Glenelg.
The final round of the home & away season will determine who South Australia will play for the shield. In this final round, SA will host Queensland at Karen Rolton Oval starting from 15 March.
