South Australia to compete at National Cricket Inclusion Championships

The South Australian Cricket Association is pleased to announce the following three teams, which start their campaigns at the National Cricket Inclusion Championships 19 January 2025. The Championships will take place at Marchant Park, Queensland 19-24 January 2025.

The SA Blind and Low Vision Cricket Team, winners of the 2024 NCIC Spirt of Cricket in their division, will look to repeat their Grand Final appearance last year, and hopefully go one step further and claim the title.

Coach Amir Latifi says, “the team is pumped and ready to go one step further than last year”. The team is full of confidence and the culture of the group will hold them in good stead for the Championships.

In the Cricketers with Intellectual Disability division, South Australia will be looking for the ultimate team performance with a mixture of new and returning players. Coach Jason Temby is pleased with their preparation, reporting “in the lead-up to the NCIC tournament, the team has been well-prepared, having conducted a series of training sessions and trial games over the past three months. It was encouraging to see strong participation during the open training sessions, with the training squad made up of development players alongside the 17-player squad.”

The SA Deaf and Hard of Hearing Cricket Team returned to the Championships last year, and it is fantastic see the core playing group return to showcase their skills once again. Playing Coach Adam Wood believes “the team is better prepared compared to last season. We have been more focused on batting.”
