The South Australian Cricket Association in partnership with Cricket Australia are pleased to confirm the Adelaide Oval fixtures for the international summer of cricket, highlighted by a blockbuster Women’s Ashes T20 International and the return of December Day/Night Men’s Test cricket to the iconic venue.
Australia will face off against England in the Ashes under lights on Saturday, January 25 2025, with the clash expected to draw a large crowd similar to the thrilling series on English soil in 2023 which broke attendance and viewership records for Women’s cricket. It is the first of two Ashes clashes scheduled for 2025, with the Men’s Ashes set for the summer of 2025/26.
India will play Australia at Adelaide Oval in a Day/Night Test beginning on Friday, December 6 2024, their first time back to South Australia since a famous Australian victory in 2020.
Adelaide Oval will also host a Day/Night Men’s One Day International against Pakistan on Friday, November 8 2024.
SACA and Cricket Australia expect a long-term Test schedule to be announced in the coming weeks, with SACA and Adelaide Oval looking to confirm a premium Test schedule for several years.
SACA President William Rayner says the scheduling is just reward for SACA Members and their continued support of Australian cricket.
“We have worked closely with Cricket Australia in recent months to ensure a long-term schedule of international cricket that rewards SACA Members and all South Australian sporting fans for their passion and dedication,” Rayner said.
“At every stage of the negotiations, we looked to not only secure a fair and rewarding deal for SACA, but a strong deal that promotes growth for Australian cricket.
“We look forward to welcoming England for a huge Women’s Ashes fixture and Pakistan for a white ball battle in November, and India for a marquee Day/Night Test Match. As always, we know our Members will turn up in huge numbers for these matches and we look forward to again showcasing our amazing city to the world this summer.”
India’s last journey to Adelaide created history, with Australia claiming an eight-wicket victory on the back of a remarkable bowling performance from quick Josh Hazlewood.
The Women’s Ashes will comprise of all three formats of the game, with the T20I at Adelaide Oval set to be a key clash in the deciding of the prestigious series.
