School Visit Program

The SACA School Visit Program consists of nine weeks of scheduled school visits across both metropolitan and regional South Australia.

The purpose of these visits is to educate kids and parents about the various junior participation programs available to them and where they can get involved with cricket within their local community.

School visits can vary from class room visits, school assemblies, practical clinics and sometimes even special appearances from players and the Adelaide Strikers mascots, Smash and Summer!

This program is run during most weeks of Term Three and the first two weeks of Term Four each year and has previously had approximately 200 schools invited and over 25,000 kids each year experience cricket as part of this program.

To organise your school visit, please contact Andrew Edwards, Cricket Manager - Statewide Schools on (08) 8300 3895 or via aedwards@saca.com.au

Mascot Challenge

The Mascot Challenge has been developed to assist Reception to Year 2 students to develop fundamental movement skills and physical literacy. The program promotes active lifestyles by achieving moderate to vigorous intensity activity on most days of the week as outlined in the Australian Physical Activity Guidelines.

The Mascot Challenge achieves this by spending 10 minutes a day developing fundamental skills that will assist students in remaining physically active later in life. As part of the challenge, each day participants will undertake activities which can be tracked on a class tally board and are designed to challenge them at their own pace, in a fun and inclusive environment.

Schools receive four easy to follow activity cards and posters that show each week’s activities, plus a large tally board for the classroom. The challenge can be used effectively as a breakout activity for your students which will allow them to concentrate for longer periods in the classroom.
