Junior Community Cricket

Learn more about the five junior cricket associations that offer regular competition for children across metropolitan Adelaide.

SACA Metropolitan Competitions

SACA provides competition administration to a number of junior metropolitan cricket competitions in Adelaide. There are currently five cricket associations that offer regular competition for junior community cricketers across metropolitan Adelaide.

SACA Metropolitan Competitions (Under 16 and Under 18)

First launched at the start of the 2021/22 season, SACA ran an Under 16 Competition, played on Sunday afternoons. This comprised a mixture of one-day and two-day cricket.

The SACA 150 Cup was also launched during the 2021/22 season, which was a T20 competition for Under 18 teams to participate in across the state. Teams were grouped in conferences and played pool matches, before the top performing teams came together to participate in semi-finals and a final. During this season, we were lucky enough to have the finals played at Karen Rolton Oval and Adelaide Oval.

Both competitions will be running again in season 2023/24.

Adelaide Turf Cricket Association

With the development of the community based club structure, a need became necessary to incorporate a junior competition at under 15 and under 17 levels providing a clear pathway for young cricketers to move into senior representation, without having to change clubs at this important stage of their development. The junior competition of ATCA currently incorporates numerous teams playing turf cricket on Sunday afternoons, with a select group of inner southern suburbs clubs also entering teams from Woolworths Cricket Blast and above.
