Values Week: Bringing Our Strategy to Life

SACA’s recent Strategy Launch marked an exciting and important milestone for our organisation, setting a clear direction for the future and bringing renewed energy to who we are and where we’re headed. It was fantastic to see so many people come together for the launch breakfast on 28 April, sharing in the moment and helping to kick off the next chapter of SACA’s journey.

At the heart of the launch was the introduction of our refreshed vision, purpose and values, captured in our Strategy on a Page and broader strategic framework. Together, these provide a shared understanding of our priorities and how we will focus our efforts and impact in the years ahead. Central to this is our purpose — to honour cricket’s heritage, drive its future and connect communities. It reflects both the responsibility we hold and the opportunity we have to shape the game and its role in South Australia.

Supporting this purpose are our values: Be Kind, Be Brave, and Do Great Things Together. These values define not only what we stand for, but how we show up every day — for each other, for our members and players, and for the wider cricket community.

Following the launch, we officially kicked off our first Values Week — a dedicated week of activities designed to bring our purpose and values off the page and into our everyday work. The intent was simple but powerful: to move beyond words and create shared experiences that help embed our culture across the organisation.

And that’s exactly what happened.

Throughout the week, it was inspiring to see teams across SACA embrace the opportunity to connect, reflect and engage with what the strategy means in practice. From shared conversations and team activities to lighter moments filled with laughter, the values came to life in a very real and tangible way.

We saw Kindness in the way people supported one another and created inclusive, positive environments. We saw Bravery in individuals stepping outside their comfort zones, contributing new ideas and having open, honest conversations. And we saw what it truly means to Do Great Things Together, with teams collaborating, building momentum and strengthening connections across the organisation.

Perhaps most telling was the energy across the week — reflected in the smiles, interactions and genuine engagement of our people. It reinforced that culture isn’t something written down; it’s something we create together through everyday actions.

A big thank you goes to everyone who got involved, contributed so openly and embraced the spirit of the week. It is this collective effort that turns strategy into reality and ensures our purpose and values are more than just words — they become part of how we work, lead and succeed together.

As we move forward, Values Week is just the beginning. The opportunity now is to continue building on this momentum, embedding these behaviours into our daily work and continuing to bring our strategy to life in meaningful ways.

This is SACA at its best — connected, energised and united in purpose.
